Pickers Dream Harley Davidson Motorcycle Barn Find

American Pickers find hidden treasures in the most unsuspected places, can you? Under a pile of boxes, I found a Harley Davidson Motorcycle hiding for 25 years.

So, as you’re watching another episode of the American Pickers or watching the Canadian version of pickers it must cross your mind at least once. Where do these guys find their treasures?  My answer is, in a bush, barns, storage sheds, backyards of houses, word of mouth is the best and of coerce, last but not least, abandoned buildings.

Why Would Anybody Want To Be A Truck Driver?

It all started with this question on Quora. This is a popular website where you ask a question and — if anybody is qualified will answer back.  This question started me down this path, ‘Why would you want to be a truck driver?’

Well, this inquiry was right up my alley, being this website you’re reading on is a site devoted to anything transportation related. I was compelled by my trucker buddies to answer this question and, it goes like this.

Truck Drivers Are The Safest On The Road

Today, the truth is that commercial trucks are involved in 2.4% of all car accidents and more than 80% of those accidents are the fault of the non-commercial driver. Furthermore, only 16% of all truck driving accidents are due to the truck driver’s fault and of those death-related accidents, only 4% of trucks are fatigue-related. Because safety groups are continually discussing the dangerous safety hazards of motor carriers and their truck drivers, it is important to provide actual statistics pertaining to truck crashes and fatality rates, as compared to the record of auto drivers.

Truck Stop Joke Of The Day

A trucker came into the truck stop diner and placed an order. He said

“I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards.”

The waitress went to the kitchen and repeated the order to the cook, wondering what the trucker meant.

The cook said three flat tires mean three pancakes. A pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up and the running boards are 2 slices of crisp bacon.

The waitress then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer. She then looked at him with a smirk and said;

I thought while you’re waiting for your flat tires, headlights and running boards, you may as well — gas up.”

Truck Brakes Out Of Adjustments Safety Blitz

It’s that time of year for you truck drivers so, get ready for your annual government road safety inspection.

Popular trucker magazine “cdllife Link Here” had an interesting article that stood out from the rest. It was either an advertisement or maybe an out-and-out warning to all truck drivers. There will be an “across the board “safety brake blitz Article Here” starting that same weekend.”  (Across the board means= across the country)

Junior Drag Racers @ Grand Bend Speedway

This is Just a Fun Transportation Story! And It Goes This Way.

On a hot Sunday afternoon, we decided to head up to the drag races at the famous Grand Bend Speedway “Link” in Ontario Canada.

As luck would have it they featured Junior Drag Race Challenges. (They are my favourite to watch),

The young drag racers were lining up and just about ready to do their thing when there was a loud bang, a cloud burst.

It rained just long enough for the officials to momentarily call the drag races off.

These young people were dismounting from their tiny cockpits, and after they firmly put their feet on the ground, a 12-year-old driver took his helmet off and drove it as hard as he could into the ground.

”Ah SHIT HE SAYS” I want to race!

God must have heard him “or not” cursing because a moment later, clouds cleared, the tarmac dried, and in a matter of minutes, they were back drag racing.

“Ah, SHIT HE SAYS” I want to race! You got to love the junior drag racers; they talk just like the big boys.

It was just a fun day out at the races and while we were there, we visited their famous freshwater sandy beach “Link.” It was a good Day! Only In Canada Eh!

This is only a small part of a fun addition to my E-book from Amazon called “Classic Car Manual.” In this book, you will find many helpful automotive stories and swap meets tales about, where car guys find their hot rod projects.
